Currently, Danilo Pérez serves as UNESCO Artist For Peace, Artistic Director of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, and Artistic Director of the Panama Jazz Festival. In previous years, he served as Goodwill Ambassador to UNICEF and Cultural Ambassador to the Republic of Panama.

The Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) is a performance program designed to foster creativity and musicianship through various musical disciplines, with pianist and composer Danilo Pérez as its artistic director.
The Royal Conservatory hosted a master class specifically planned and intended for students of jazz on February 12, 2011 in Koerner Hall. Organized by saxophonist, composer, arranger, and producer Tim Ries, the master class featured three members of the Wayne Shorter Quartet: Panamanian pianist and composer Danilo Pérez, bassist John Patitucci, and drummer Brian Blade.
